Hi Cheryl,
Domanski relatives:
my great grandfather was
Jan (Ivan) Domanski from Chlebowice Swirskie, Galicia/Austria/Ukraine
He was of Ukrainian ethnicity.
-----------
He had siblings named: Nicholas (Mykolay), Mary (Marja), Anastazia, Catherine.
------------
Jan married Katherine Nadya (maiden name possibly either Rura or Zukowsky)
Jan had 17 children (at least) the names that I know are:
Ivan, Michal, Nicholas(Mykolay), Anastazia (Nascia),Mary (Marja) Some other possible siblings were Anna, Wasyl, Julia, Josefa and Catherine.
Only six of my great grandfather's children came to the U.S.--at least that is the rumor.
----------------
One of Jan's sons stayed briefly in Canada. That was Nicholas (Mykolay) Dumansky who spent a few years off and on in Ormstown near Montreal, Canada. This was between 1910-1917 roughly. Nicholas was married and had a family and several of his children were born in Canada. He eventually settled in Buffalo, NY.
Other names associated with Nicholas Dumansky in Montreal are Bodnar and Lesczyszyn. Also, Bobjak or Babjak.
---------
Komar is a name associated with my family, but back in Galicia/Austria/Ukraine. This name appears in my grandmother's generation.
I have a Julia Ivanivna Komar and possibly a Katherine Komar. I believe that these are Domanskys who married into the Komar family back in Ukraine.
--------------------------
Have you been able to locate immigration records for your Domanski and Komar relatives? It would be very helpful to know where they came from specifically. Do you know precise names of relatives and dates? Maybe I can locate the records for you.
