WOW! My grandmother on my father's side was Hilma Koivisto Lytikainen, born in Finland in 1881, married my grandfather, Aaro Lytikainen, and they immigrated to the U.S., first to Minnesota, where they had their first son; after returning to Finland for a short time where their second son was born, they returned to the U.S., settling in Pelkie, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where their next three sons were born, including my father Lauri, after whom I was named. (I am female, and my grandparents were upset that my parents had given me a "boy's name!)
I would be very interested in how you ended up with my grandmother's Bible! I also could fill you in with a bit more of her life, if you'd be interested. (Isn't the internet wonderful?!)
I would appreciate any glimses into her past. She and my grandfather a wonderful, Finnish couple. THANK YOU SO MUCH! Laurie (Lytikainen) Enderle, in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
