Koiles of Buchanan County, Iowa; Delaware County, Indiana
My husband's line is Levi Clinton Koile and his first wife, Emeline Vincent. Their daughter was Mary Elizabeth Koile Kendall. Does anyone know how to contact Richard Miracle? I was in contact with him many, many years ago...before he wrote his book....I have a copy. I also have many pictures of the second family of Levi. I sent copies to Richard's grandfather many years ago and he gave me many names. I also have a story about the name change that came from a "cousin" researcher on the Kyle line....probably in the late 1970's. I have not spent time on this line in 25 years but will look up what I have on any questions. Again, I would like to re-connect with Richard if possible. Many thanks, Nancy

Re: Koiles of Buchanan County, Iowa; Delaware County, Indiana
Hello Nancy, It has been awhile, but I happened across you posting. I haven't spent much time on the Koiles for a number of years, but ironically I was just at the Indiana State Historical Society in Indianapolis last week and I found a couple of brief letters or messages included in his cousin's letters that were written by Levi Koile in 1864 while he was in the Civil War. These were on microfilm under the Wilson - Wright papers of Delaware Co., IN.
Anyway, grandpa Ross Koile died in the fall of 1987. I haven't spent a great deal of time on them since that time. For at least the last 15 years I have been compiling my grandmother's family, which has been an enormous task, but I still occasionally run across some interesting tidbits on the Koiles. My contact information is as follows:

I just really wanted to reconnect with you. It had been so many years. We are now in Shingle Springs, CA...still NoCal...still east of Sacramento. Question, was Levi married to Emeline when he wrote those letters? I have him marrying June 1864 in Buchanan Co, Iowa. Hope all is well with you. Keep in touch when you can. Re: Koiles of Buchanan County, Iowa; Delaware County, Indiana
Nancy, Sorry about the delay. I have been trying to sort out the individuals in the letters. It appears that all of the letters in the collection were sent to Alfred Wilson, the son of John and Nancy (Campbell) Wilson, and/or his wife Martha E. (Wright) Wilson, daughter of Hatfield Wright. There are two letters written by Levi Koile and he does mention Emaline. However, there are no letters to Emaline, so there isn't any personal information involved. Anyway, I am transcribing the letters and (the much more time consuming part) reworking/researching the Wilson line (unfortunately, I knew very little about them until a few weeks ago). I am trying to arrange everything at the moment and I will be sending this on to you - probably near Christmas when I'll be on vacation - once I get everything coherently organized.

Alfred must have been the brother of Elizabeth Ann Wilson who was Levi's mother. I have Alfred's birth as about 1837. Nancy was Nancy Scott Campbell. Have not looked at this line in ages.
By chance do you know anything about the Isle of Man? Dennis' cousin asked me to look up her husband's line. He is a Teare and they think from the Isle of Man. Have him here in the US but need more info to make the jump to IOM. Looks like Teare is a common name there. Just wondering.
