In late May or early June 1947, I joined the U.S. Army at age 17. I am from Saunders County Nebraska. A Ross A Koile enlisted also and was from Omaha. If this is the same Koile, please advise.
He and I met in the Union Station in Omaha and went on overnight Pullman to Chicago and then on to Fort Sheridan ,Illinois for physical examination and then on to Fort Knox, Ky for vbasic training.
Ithen he and I went to quartermaster school in Camp Lee (now Fort Lee) near Petersburg, VA
If this is the same, Koile, I should like to hear of him.
I now live in Palm Springs, California but do return to Nebraska frequently.
Thank you.

Hi out there! Don, I just read your message. My maiden name is Kimberly Koile. Ross Koile was my father. He was indeed in the Army during that time period and in Nebraska!

Sadly, dad passed away a few years ago. He is so very missed. I feel just torn apart that he never got to see his little grandson, who is only 2 years old. He was the best father a person could have ever dreamed of. I'm happy that you reached out and found your friend, I only wish he was around to communicate with you. I'm sure you two would have had a lot to talk about and a lot of laughs.

God bless you! - Kim
