Have family records from Augutst Friedrich Ferdinand Koglin, (9/10/1861 - 6/25/1936); settled in Thief River Falls, MN; seems to be a dead end towards your search. Hope this aids in the process of elimination, if nothing else.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey A. Koglin

William Frederick Koglin and Mary Elizabeth Chamberlin were my grandparents. Charles Leroy Koglin was my father. Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Koglin Granbsee was my aunt. The William Koglin family lived east of Richmond, Wisconsin in Walworth County in the 1930's. Betty was the oldest child and was married to Charles Gransee in 1936. Charles Koglin was the only son of William and Mary Elizabeth Koglin. He died in Clackamas OR in 1992. William F (Bill) and Mary Elizabeth (Lizzie) Koglin lived in Janesville Wisconsin from 1942 until their deaths. The Koglins came from Wehnershof Germany (now in western Poland) in 1894 or thereabouts. They took a sailing ship from (probably) Hamburg, Germany, ariving in Quebec after a several week voyage across the Atlantic. They made tyheir way to Clinton, WI where relatives of Augusta Bobolz Koglin (mother of William F) lived. The train trip from Quebec City to Clinton probably was via Port Huron, MI, where there are Koglins today.

Looking for Koglins that may have come over the same time on perhaps the same ship (Amerika) from Hamburg. These koglins though ended up settling in the Pgh., PA area. Any idea how I should try to find any living relatives there?? I've just become interested in tracing my roots, and learning about my German heritage.
