Kofflers of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania
If anyone is related to the family of Melchior Koffler (1826-1901) and Anna Margaretha Opfermann, of Allegheny County, PA, I am collecting info and photos of our family and would love to hear from you. Our Kofflers were Roman Catholic and lived in Bethel Township area, as well as near Chartiers Creek and McKees Rocks. Melchior's name is often spelled phonetically as Milcah. He was an emigrant from Durmersheim, Baden. He had eleven children, of whom the living were Maria Elisabetha Koffler (w/o David Flowers), Maria Anna Koffler (w/o Henry Threnheuser), George A. Koffler, Valentine Koffler (h/o Justina M. Beck and Barbara Meyer), Joseph Koffler (h/o Philomena Heggen), Margaretha (w/o George Englert), Nicholas J. Koffler, and Catharina Koffler (w/o Peter and Alphonse Bour).
I am a descendant of Valentine Koffler and have a great deal of information on that family. If anyone is interested, there is also a website on Durmersheim emigrants with some of our information as well.

Re: Kofflers of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania
Hi Suzanne,
I went ahead and sent you a message through Ancestry, as it does appear we are cousins. Your grandmother Dorothy Englert was my great-grandma's first cousin. The Grover and Anna (Koffler) Smith family is the only living group of Koffler-Beck descendants. Valentine Koffler's first wife Justine Beck was a daughter of Johann Michael Beck and Katharina Knöll. The Becks and Knölls lived in McKees Rocks but were from Kirchdorf, Donau, Württemberg and Reichelsheim, Hessen, respectively.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
