I have found two photographs taken mid 1950's. The back indicated an Amy Koerber, with 3-4 adopted grandsons. The picture also stated it was developed in Richmond, Va. Doesn't state where they were actually taken. Contact me if you believe this is your relative.

Dear Thomas, I just happened to stumble upon your post about Ida Koerber and wondering who was her father. She was the daughter of Barnabas and Eva Elizabeth Menges Koerber. She was born June 18,1877 in West Virginia, later moved to Martins Ferry, Ohio and after marrying Louis Franke on April 5, 1896 in Wellsburg, WV moved to Bellaire, Ohio, where she died May 24, 1947. I realize you have probably learned all of this since your post is several years old now, but I figured I would post what I know just in case.

My Koerber connection branches off from Barnabas' brother Gottleib, who was my great-grandfather. If you are willing, I would love to exchange info, pics, etc with you. I do collateral lines as well as my direct line because it is often helpful in finding information further back on the earlier common ancestors. Wishing you happy hunting! -Maggie Deitch

He was the youngest of his siblings and I have found that he had a sister named Katharina and brother was definitely Frederich. It appears that he has at least two other siblings. This family is from the area now Bayern, called Markt Bergel and Markt Lenkersheim (both near Windsheim.

Hello,

I am trying to find any info on George Philip Korber(Corbin) who married Barbara Schollenberger and his family past and present. I know that his father was named Johann (John) Friedrick Korber and his mother's maiden name is supposedly Mosner. I want to trace this family back farther and see if he had siblings. I have found a possible sibling of George as a Fredrick. All of this family was from Germany and immigrated and settled in Ohio. I appreciate any information, Thank you!!

Hanna

I am not related, however, I believe my father was in the service with your grandfather, Oliver. I have a letter typed by Oliver asking my dad to come to White's Cafe to work. This was a cafe that was being taken over by Oliver. The date of the correspondence is August 27, 1945. Of note is that Oliver and his wife had just lost a baby girl after only a few hours after birth. If you wish more information just email be at bertamt49@verizon.net. I live in Maryland. Good luck in your search.

Re: John Koerber *1807 Odenheim, Baden, Germany - emigr. 1847, son Charles *1839

What a small world! I am doing research on the German side of my family from Tiefenbach (near Odenheim). Infact, before Tiefenbach and neighboring Eichelsburg had churches, they were under the governing Abbey of Odenheim (wigsgold,or some derivitive there of). Anyways all the Germans in my family from this area: Imhof, Ehemann, Link, Beck, Heidlinger.....settled in Toledo,Ohio when they came to the U.S. My mother, Theresa Imhof (B 1916) dated one of the Koerber's (Koerber's Beer)...I believe his name was Charlie. Let me look up her scrapbook and get back to you...My family immigrated in the 1840's. 1850's and beyond to the U.S....makes one wonder if they knew each other in Germany. My mother went to the Immaculate Conception church and school in Toledo,Ohio. She attended Notre Dame Academy in Toledo. Maybe the relation she dated wasn't "Charlie"...which would be much too young to be your grandfather, but as I said, I will check. Anyways, I ramble. If I can locate anything on your family roots, I will let you know. I hope you get this message. I believe your original post was made over a year ago...just thought you"d like to here from someone who had heard of Koerber's Beer!!!

Obit for Mrs. John (Clara Wagner) Koerber 1848 - 1918

From West Bend (WI) newspaper dated June 26, 1918

At her home in the town of Wayne, Mrs. Clara Koerber, nee Wagner, breathed her last on Monday, June 24, 1918. She had been ill since February. A few weeks ago a paralytic stroke rendered her helpless, and gradually her life ebbed away.
Deceased was born in the town of Wayne on September 2, 1848. She was united in marriage to John Koerber on November 8, 1865. They were the parents of one child, Margarethe (Mrs. Joe Umbs), whom she leaves together with her husband. The couple two years ago celebrated their golden wedding.
Mrs. Koerber came from an old settler couple who took up a homestead in the primal wilds of the town of Wayne. She was a good woman in every respect, one who well filled her place in her home and in the community. Her life was the helpful, loving and forbearing life of the true Christian, and she will continue to live in the hearts dear to her.
The funeral will be held tomorrow, Thursday, afternoon at one o'clock, with services in St. John's Evangelical church at Kohlsville, Rev. V Schmeiser officiating. Interment will be made in the cemetery of that congregation.
