My grandmother was a Koeberlein and in the process of researching her family I came across the following: Constatine Koeberlein born Bavaria, his wife Rosa and 2 daughters Amelia and Hildegard. From an obit (whereabouts at the present time, unknown) on Rosa, she died 10 Sept 1879 in Greenville, Darke Co., Oh. Constatine died before 1879 as the obit says Rosa was a widow of late Constataine. Rosa was only 42 yrs old when she died and the girls were 17 and 15. Amelia was unmarried on the 1900 census and Hildegard was the widow Schopp on the census. Thje two were living together in Greenville, Oh. Amelia and Hildgard were born in Ohio 1862 and 1864.

Dona - This is definately the right family. You gave me information that I have learned from the letters that I have. How would you be related to this family. May I ask where you are? Bev

Hi Bev, I'm not related to that particular Koeberlein family. About umpteen years ago I just could not find one family with the spelling of the name that my mother thought was her mother's "Kaberlein". After many years of hitting brick wall, I sent out a bunch of blind letters to a lot of people in telephone books in several states and one lady answered and gave me just the clue I needed, the name of the ship my Andrew and Elizabeth Koeberlein came to USA on. From there on, I just started collecting any info on Koeberleins( Koberlein with umlat over "o", the oe says the "o" has an umlat). I will do some looking and see where all the data is on that particular family (isn't much) but that will not be most likely until "next year". My Koeberleins were in Cin., Hamilton Co., Oh. Glad it was your family :-) Dona San Jose, Ca.

Dona - Your information is correct. The Koeberlien family lived in Ironton, OH for a period of time before moving to Greenville, OH. I have contacted the genealogy society in that area hoping they can help. If you run across any info that you think would be of help - please e-mail. Thank you Bev

I am also researching the Koeberlin family, both Andrew (Andreas)and his wife Elisabeth. They came to Ohio from Bavaria, but I am still searching for their home village in Bavaria. I believe Elisabeth's surname was "Doll", and possibly a first marriage to someone named "Tholing." Would also like to know what village she was from in Bavaria. Like you, I have found the name of the ship on which they came to America. I would appreciate it if you have any additional info about them you would like to share.

Searching for Andrew (Andreas) Koeberlin/Koeberlein/Köberlein born about 1806 from Unterfranken,Germany. Married Elisabeth Doll/Tholing before coming to America in 1839. Lived in Cincinnati, Ohio until death in 1875. Possibly related by marriage to Adam Webert, also from Unterfranken. Would appreciate any help in finding their birth villages.

Bummer, this thread and posts are really old, but I will try.
My Koberleins lived in Cincinnati for a while and moved on to Louisville, KY. My Koberleins, emigrated from Wurzburg Germany. They were born about 1800. They boarded the ship Annawon, from Bremen to NYC. in 1834
My Koberleins who were on the ship were Nicolaus, his wife Catherine, their sons Nicolaus and John. The parents died on board the ship before they arrived at port. They contracted cholera.
Nick Sr. wife Margaret Koberlein Goodbrad is supposed to be on the same ship, but she isn't on the manifest. There is a Hannah Mary Koberlein whom I don't know. There is also a Valentine Fuller on the ship, he married a Koberlein, but she isn't listed either.
