I am a descendant of the Koebels that originated in Fairfield County, Ohio. George Koebel settled here in 1844. Is anyone else researching this line? Any info would help.

I'm researching the Koebels in Ohio, starting with a Laura Mae Koebel born in 1891, who married a Charles B Foreman, in Columbus, OH. Her parents were William Koebel & Louisa Klamfoth. William's father was a George Koebel, born bef 1858 and died abt Oct, 1916. His father was George Koebel, born in Germany. I don't know where the Columbus Koebels were born. I do know there were three Koebel sisters (Laura, Cora, Norma) who owned a rather substantial piece of land that had been divided among them when inherited from their father (or mother). They each had a house on the land, and some of their descendants eventually built houses on the land too. Many of those houses still stand but are now surrounded by housing development. Write me. I have pictures of all of them. Are we related?

I know that a vast majority of the "Ohio Koebel's" decent from George Koebel, are now in the Toledo, Sandusky, and Fremont area in Northern Ohio. What information are you specifically looking for, I may be able to help.

Do you know if George Koebel had any brothers? I had a grandfather named Max Adolf Koebel who was born in Germany and from my records that I found he (Max) came over with his brother named George Koebel. Max later also had a son named George Harrison Koebel. These Koebels moved to Iowa and this is where Max and George Koebel both passed away. I do have pictures of Max A. Koebel. Thank you.

I am from the Cincinnati area. I too have a relative named George Koebel. He had several children. My line is from his son Charles, who had William who had Robert who had me. George Koebel was born in Baden, Germany around 1812. Does anyone sound familiar?

I know it's been a long time since you posted this but wanted to let you know it's not the same George Koebel as the George Koebel in Columbus OH died there, not in Iowa.
