Surnames: Koebele, Koebel
I am researching my grandmothers family. Her name was Marcella Koebele, her father was George Koebele, his father was Stephen Koebele, and Stephen's father was Landelin Koebele. All were in the Effingham, Illinois area.

If anyone has information about this line, I would be so appreciative! Thanks!!!!

Stephen Koebele was my great grandfather. My grandfather was Florent Koebel. When he joined the army in WWI they dropped the "e" on the end and he kept it that way.
I live in Seattle and am currently visiting my mother near Sioux City, Iowa.
We just came from Effingham since my wife is from Effingham, Illinois. When we were married there she introduced me to many of my relatives from the area. They spell their name Koebele. The country Catholic church in Island Grove was built on ground donated by Landelin. Landelin and Stephen are buried in the graveyard across the street.
I have a lot of information dating back to the 1600's in my computer.
I will be returning home in a few weeks and will have access to more information if you care to know more.

I am a descendant of Landelin Koebele through his daughter Philipina Koebele who married John Adam. As you probably know John is the brother of Stephen's wife Anna. There daughter Mary Adam married Henry Jansen, also from Island Grove, their son Rudolph was my grandfather. I would like to know what kind of information you have on the Koebele family.

Please email me if you are still looking for information on Landelin Koebele. I'm a direct descendant of his brother (Zyprian). I know a little bit about the two brothers but more importantly I can provide Landelin's lineage back to the 1675 - early 1700's. This post is 5 years old so I don't know if your still looking for information or not.
