Deborah,
I have a Edward Koebel, or Koelbel, with siblings: John, Joseph, Charles, Ella, Katherine & Laura. Do you have the first names of the parents of your Edward?

My great garndfather was Charles Koebel. His wife was Lizzie Miller.
He was born in 1858 in Cincinnati, Ohio and she in 1860.

Do you think Charlie and Charles are the same person?

Lynn,

The Edward you speak of would've been a nephew to my GG Grandmother, Margaret (Koebel) Held. My gg grandparents were married in Fremont, OH and lived there for many years. I don't know that much on the Koebels. I was able to find some information about Margaret's brother Andrew and his family. How much information do you have on the Koebels?

Thank you,
Shirley (Held) Prindle

I am from Fremont, Ohio. My father-in-law and his brother ran a small grocery called Koebel's Market here. It was founded by Andrew, and passed down through the family. It closed a couple of years ago. I believe Edward is my father-in-law's grandfather, but I'm a little iffy on some of the generations.

My wife and I found an old canceled check today in our attic. It was written out to "Koebel's Grocery" on July 1, 1957. I'm not sure if that was the same Koebel's. The strange thing is, it was signed by Julie Solnick, a former owner of our property here in Orwell, Ohio.

This is a pretty old post and I'm not even sure if you will see this or not, but I figured I'd give it a try. Edward Koebel was my great grandfather. I'm trying to research that side of my family and unfortunately, my Mom doesn't have any information. And to the best of our knowledge, all living relatives on her side of the family had passed - so I'm doing some hard research looking for clues! :)
My grandmother was Jeanette Koebel, who married William Crabtree. They had my Mom, Carol Crabtree Burghardt.
If you found information on Edward's parents/siblings - I would love to share. Thanks much. Bridget Burghardt Magri

Katherine Koebel was my paternal grandfather's mother. Katie on the beach she wanted to be called. She lived in a shack on the Niagara river they forced her off her land to build the skyway a monstrocity of waste. My great grandmother died from a broken heart after buffalo politians robbed her land she gave up and died in the early 1960's I am looking for info on my dad;s side since he and my mother died at young ages from self inflicted reasons. not suicide but alcohol and perscription drugs.
