Seeking information : Wisconsin, and (?)
Presently conducting research on the surnames KOBZA, KOCEJA, SZYMANOWSKI, GOLLA, SUSALLA, NIEMCZYNSKI, principally in Wisconsin. Descendant of John Niemczynski, once described as Oldest Citizen of Milwaukee. Families farmed near Kilbourn, Wisconsin (Sauk County / Juneau County).
Any information would be much appreciated.

Re: Seeking information : Wisconsin, and (?)
After doing some research the John Niemczynski that I belive you are inquiring about was my great-great-great grandfather. According to the information I found he was born April 11th 1809 in the city of Lobzenicy in the Polish province of Posen. He married his wife Ann (I don't have her maiden name) in 1829 in Poland. John & Ann & their son & 4 daughters arrived in the US in 1873 & setttled in Milwaukee. According to the info I found, John died june 9th 1909 at the home of one of his daughters Magdeline Korpal .His wife Ann died in March 1914. They are both buried at St Adalbert Cemetery in Milwaukee WI.

Ellen: John Niemczynski is my g-g-grandfather also. I, too, thought they all came to the USA together but I have since found out that Veronica and her husband and six children arrived in NY in 1872 on-board the "Doctor Barth" sailing ship. Would love to hear from you. Chris Koceja is also my cousin. Have not been able to verify when other Niemczynski siblings arrived.

Re: Seeking information : Wisconsin, and (?)
Hi, Ellen --
Yes, as our cousin Norb points out, we are all related to John Niemczynski -- another cousin of ours, Julie Buchanan, has often said that "half the south side of Milwaukee is related" through him!
Anna's maiden name was Michalek, and she was born on August 8, 1811 in "German Poland", passing away on February 28, 1914 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
I've sent you a more detailed, private e-mail, too.
