My grandfathers name was Albert Joseph Kocak
he died in Dec of 1951 I am running into many
dead ends on this side of my family he was from
Duquesnes PA he had 1 brother named George
and his parents names were Stephen and Elizabeth
our name was changed some time possibly in the
1940's it may have been spelled Kozak, or Koczak
If any one knows any information on tis family please

this side.
Thank You

I have learned a little from my search and
this is my great-grandmothers maiden name was
Toth, the name was changed from Koczak, both
of my great-grandparents were born in Hungary
I believe Elizabet was born around 1892 and
Steve/Stephen was born in 1892 but I'm not exactly
certain if any of this sound familiar please
reply.

I have come into possession of 3 Silver Certificates from WWII. They have yellow seals on them instead of blue, which means they were issued for our troops in North Africa and Southern Europe. Each one is signed George Kocak. On the first one he wrote Casablanca, January 1944. The second one, Roma, May 1944. And the last one, Battle of Arno River Italy, August 1944. I believe these to be from your relative. A George Kocak from the Pittsburg Pa. area enlisted in the army on January 18, 1941. He was released from active duty September 27, 1945. I believe this George Kocak may have been assigned to the 337th Inf. Reg. of the 85th Inf. Div. of the 5th Army. However, I have not been able to prove so.
If this George is your Great Uncle please let me know.
I have attached a scan of the silver certificates.
