I don't know your grandfather - but each part of his name are family names of my paternal grandfather - born 1898 - the timing of which could have made them siblings.... I had two uncles - one named Billy who died of a heart attack sometime in the 1970's.... I think.... and one named Arthur who died in the '30's from leukemia.... My grandfather was one of 13 siblings who, when their mother died with the 14th child in labor, were all put into an orphanage in NYC by their father who then remarried - being orphans they could have been sent almost anywhere... my grandfather was in NYC but ran away from the orphanage and found a family to adopt him and lived an amazingly interesting life.....

I am aware that I have hundreds of relatives that do not know each other as the story that I was told about our family name was a lie that didn't get revealed until my grandmother died sometime in the 1980's - which was that our name was longer and was shortened at Ellis Island - rather than the truth - which is - to disassociate with their father whom they hated for putting them in an orphanage - the original 13 children added a "b" to the end of "Kob" which was the original spelling of the family name which ties back to a small village in Russia.... a second cousin told me this from detailed geneology research he had done.... so anyway - if you are a family member you are likely jewish - my mother is catholic and I wasn't raised with religion but instead with some jewish culture from my father's extended family... since the jews name the next born after recently past relatives and so names repeat.... knowing what I do know about our family and all the untruths told about the family history.... even though their are lots of crazy stories this name connection with my uncel's names is likely a real blood connection.... even with the funky geographical disconnection - who knows where the kids were sent at how old and what story they were told...???!!!!

So that's what I can tell you in this forum.... If you ever see this note and want to know more I would need to know a bit more about who you are so I could feel safe sharing any more family information in this day and age of the internet....

Cheers.....
