I am searching for members of the Kobal family. My father-in-law, Stanley F. Kobal emigrated from Slovenia in about 1920. His family settled in Johnstown, Pa. He married Jennie Lubelshek. I have not been able to find much information. Anyone with information about this family, please respond.

My great-grandmother was Josephene Kobal, a native of Trieste. She was employed as a governess to a ship captain's family in Galati, Romania, where she married my grandfather, Michael Omelich. Present day telephone directories indicate most of the Kobals are living in Trieste and neighboring Slovenia. An alternative spelling is Kobau. Some Kobals are in Switzerland and other neighboring countries.

Hello; My great-grandfather came to the United States from Pommerania, Prussia, (Germany)(near the Baltic Sea) in the 1880's. We spell Koball with two l's. I am wondering if these families may be the same. I would welcome any information. I have noticed a number of Kobal families in the Slovic states, and was interested to see the number of Kobal families living in Turkey.
