I working hard on the Knuckey family history. With so may of these names being the same, I think that our Knuckey's could be connected to yours. If I learn anything else on the family, I will send you a message, so stay tuned!
Did I mention that our Knuckey's were from RedRuth? Then Alfred, Hugh and William came to the U.S., to Calumet, Houghton Co. Michigan. Have you checked on the internet with Kindredkonnections for the 1871 Cornwall Census? I found our Knuckey's there. The earliest connection that I have is James Knuckey, b: about 1820.

i know it says this last post was back in 2000. but if your dad's Leona Knuckey married Theodore Bielli, then that Leona is my Great-grandmother. I did some searching in high school and found that her last name could be traced back to Miles Standish. I don't currently have all of my information with me but i'm pretty sure my Leona may be your dad's sister.

There appear to be 2 possibilies for your Hugh Knuckey - one born in June quarter 1854 & the other in June quarter 1853. They both appear in the 1861 UK census. One Hugh was the son of James Knuckey & Ann (nee Pryor) & he was christened on 31 May 1854 at the Wesleyan Church, Stithians, while the other was the son of Thomas Knuckey & Ann (nee Martin) & was also born in Stithians. Did any of Hugh's siblings also go to either Canada or the US?

My name is Edward Knuckey. My father Edward (sr) was the only son and I the only grandson of Alonzo Thomas Knuckey, b 1853 Cornwall (Falmouth 5c 213 sgant). I am trying to find the names of my grandfathers parents and if he had siblings. My grandmother Mary O'Haire Knuckey told me he had several and she used to talk about Duluth. Any possibity Hugh David was rerlated to Alonzo? And/or in your research have you come across that name?
