Thanks for the info. Some have connected this line to my St Erth line but I have found no evidence other than an educated guess.

Thanks to all who posted to my query of 2-28. I've been to Perranarowrthal & Stithians which is a lovely place. Alonzo had 5 daughters by his first wife Harriet - Beatrice, Lottie, Lucy , Bessie, Stella. I understand Harriet died and Alonzo emigrated to US where he married Mary Catherine O'Hare to which his only son, Edward J. Knuckey was born. I am Edward's only son. If you are connected to Alonzo's first family I would love to hear form you.

Hey

My Great Grandmother's name was Mary Ellen Knuckey, she migrated to New Zealand; not sure whether that was before or after she married Walter Edmund Lake. Her Daughter Isabel Alice Lake married William Thomas Mancer.

As far as i know Mary Ellen Knuckey came from Cornwell. Not sure of any other information.

Hi! I am so glad I found this board -- I am hoping someone can help me.
My great, great grandmother was Martha Anne Knuckey, born 1869 in Cornwall. She married Thomas James Stephens and they had 3 kids - Lillian Mae (my G-grandma), Winifred and James.
From the 1871 and 1881 England Censuses, I believe her parents are Hugh Knuckey (born about 1837) and Elizabeth (unsure of her last name). I can not find any info on this branch of the family.
Does anyone have info on them?
Thanks in advance!

Not my immediate tree. But suggest you search the records of the towns of Stithians and Skinnigrove. The name Knuckey sesm to have been fairly well established in Cornwall by the mid-19th century. lots of luck.
