Charles & Margaret Knuckey
Hi, I am attempting to locate any information about Charles and Margaret Knuckey. All I know thus far is that they are both buried in Bisbee, Arizona. Margaret's burial date is January 26, 1924.
Charles was a second (??) marriage for Margaret. Her previous marriage was last name Thomas. The Thomas family is out of the Pontypridd, Wales area. I believe she married Charles in Wales, and they both arrived in the US in perhaps the late 1880's - 1890's. May have routed thru Canada. Children of Margaret and Mr. Thomas may include Edward John, Mary, Ethel and Will.
Thank you, Jo Brown

Re: Charles & Margaret Knuckey
Hi Jo, I posted a query for Margaret (Johns) THOMAS/KNUCKEY under the Wales/Glamorgan board and got the following search results from a researcher in Wales:
[I searched the 1861 census for Glamorgan but could not identify any Margaret John[s] that fit your requirements. I then looked at the 1881 census for Great Britian. First, there are only three Charles Knuckey in all of Great Britian. The oldest one was born in 1862 and none lived in Wales. Margaret could have met him in the US.
Getting back to the 1881 census, there is one Margaret Thomas that matches some of your criteria. Family was living at Factory Cottage, Llanwit Lower, Glamorgan. Can't find a Llanwit Lower on present day maps but there are three Llanwits in present day Glamorgan: Llanwit, Llanwit Major, and Llanwit Farde. Nowadays, Llanwit Farde is considered part of Pontypridd. The family members were: John Thomas age 35 born in Llandebie, Cardigan, Wales Margaret age 35 born in Llandilo, Cardigan Mary age 12 born in Craig Llanguicke, Glamorgan Jacob age 10 born in Melincrythan, Glamorgan William age 7 born in Melincrythan, Glamorgan Gomer age 2 born in Melincrythan, Glamorgan That's all there is. Dave]
Let me know if you think this might be the Margaret (Johns) THOMAS/KNUCKEY you are researching. The above Margaret could have had chid born in 1882/3 (i.e. Edward John Thomas)? I'm still not sure that my Edward JOHNS family is related, but can't rule it out yet either.

Re: Charles & Margaret Knuckey
Hi Wendy, I've been out of the loop for awhile on this part of the family tree. Thank you so much for the information discovered. I haven't had a chance to dig much deeper, but I hope to get there real soon. All I know about Charles is that he is buried in Bisbee, AZ, and perhaps date of death. That info is in a stack somewhere. Haven't entered it into my program until I can confirm who is who. I have recently heard that perhaps Margaret was Edward John Thomas's STEP mother, not real mother, which throws my thinking out of whack. Either way, Edward was the information giver on Margaret's death certificate, so at least I know I have the correct person in Margaret Knuckey, just not the correct relationship to my grandfather, Edward.
Again, thanks for your help, not sure I had even sent a thank you, but I do appreciate your work.
