BEALLSVILLE -- Roger LaVerne Knuchel, 70, of Thornville, Ohio (Perry County) formerly of Byesville, Ohio (Guernsey County) died Wednesday (Dec. 17, 2014) in Licking Memorial Hospital, Newark, OH.
He was born Sept. 10, 1944, in Steubenville, Ohio, son of the late LaVerne "Buzz" and Dorothy Carle Knuchel.
Mr. Knuchel was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.
He was a retired employee of Colgate-Palmolive in Cambridge, Ohio, a member of the Thornville Community Nazarene Church, an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and WWE fan, and he enjoyed fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, Carol Joan Taylor Knuchel; his children, Mark (Dawnel) Knuchel of Woodbridge, Va., JoEva (Tim) Hager of Thornville, Eileen (James) Hutchison of Cambridge; a sister, Darlene (Donald) Newell of Lochgelly, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Garrit Lindstrom, Jeremey Lindstrom, Brent Lindstrom, MaKayla Hager, Chloe Hager, Mitchel Knuchel, and Jennavieve Hager.
Visitation will be held Saturday from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Harper Funeral Home, Beallsville, OH where funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. with Kenneth Brown officiating.
Interment will follow in Beallsville Cemetery.
