I have been researching my Nolff ancestors from Baden Wuerttemberg,Germany.They came from Grossgartach which is about 50 KM south of Frankfurt.
We know they started leaving Germany in 1737 as that was when my Immigrant ancestor,Laurentius Nolff departed.Others in the family went to Russia,France and Belgium to escape the Religious persecution and Military Conscription.
We have seen the name spelled Nolf,Nolph,Nulf and Nulph and were wondering if Knopf was another spelling of the name and if we are all related.
