Looking for info on Adam Knoblauch, born 27 July 1839 in Munich, Germany. Married Barbara Schoeppner (b: 23 Dec 1838, Munich, GE). They immigrated to Mt. Carmel, IA and had 17 children over the years. They both died in Sumner, WA in the early 1900s.

I had a grandfather with the same date as you are looking for. That would be from my mom's mom's mom's side of the family who was my great grandmother Mary Knoblauch's father. I do have some info but not much.

Hey I think we are related. :)

Sorry, I cannot help you with your specific search. But the name Schoeppner caught my eye--unusual name.

I am granddaughter of Joseph Schoeppner, born around 1890 in New York. He married Blanche Donoho around 1918 in So. California. Father was Joseph Schoeppner born in New York. Family probably came from Germany. Do you have any information on any Joseph Schoeppners or any Schoeppners in New York?

Would appreciate any help. I have no clues.
Thanks,
Sandy

I would appreciate hearing from you if you have any Schoeppners in your family. The only Schoeppners I know of were born in New York--son around 1890 and father somewhat earlier. Both Joseph Schoeppner. Son married and lived in So. California, died in the 1950s.

Regards,
Sandy

Hi Sandy:

The Joseph Schoeppner in my husband's family tree was born in Munich, Germany on 5 Aug 1869. None of his siblings were born in New York; either Germany of Iowa. Sorry I can't be or more help.

Thank you so much for replying. So sorry there is no match. Probably there is a connection a couple of generations back, because my Joseph S. did come from Germany. Just have no info on him. Do you have any info on when the Schoeppners immigrated into the U.S.?

Hi Sandy: They came here sometime between 1869 and 1870; Joseph was born in Germany Aug 1869 and Louise was born in Mt. Carmel, IA in Oct 1870. I'm sure you're right about an earlier connection; Barbara did have a brother named John, but that is all I know.

Hi again Sandy: Have you gone out to the Mormon www.familysearch.org? There is a Joseph Schoeppner listed there who was born in New York and died in California. Nothing about his wife, tho.

Thank you, Sue. I can now add two more "unrelated" people into my database.
Who are Barbara and John that you mentioned? Ancestors? Current relatives? Would they make a good addition to my database? And how are you related?
It might be best to reply to my private email, if you have anything interesting you would like to share. At some point, when we find out how we are related, it might be worth putting each other's information into our own databases.
Thank you,

Wow! Thanks. I'm very new at researching my ancestors, and all of my information so far is from close relatives. I'm now at the point of trying to go further. I didn't know about this website you recommended. That's great to hear!
