Hi

I have no information about your family however by a stiking coincidence my family (8 children) lived in Norwood Pa. (suburban Philadelphia) There is a large family of Knoblauchs who settled in the Allentown PA area in 1849 from which we are descended. But most of the "49ers" went west. Are you aware that the name means Garlic in German. The original Knoblauchs were Sephardic Jews who left Spain in 1492 to go east. Many settled in southeren Germany.
In the middle ages the Jews in Spain were often refered to as "garlic eaters" hence the name.
You might try to look for the Aleum Society which is a European based group of Knoblauchs. They used to havea web site but I have not checkled it out for several years.

Good luck,
Martin Knoblauch , Philadelpha, PA
