MANSFIELD: Kirk E. Kniceley, age 53, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away Sunday, September 12, 2010 at home surrounded by his family.
The son of Olney and Roberta (Walker) Kniceley, Kirk was born December 22, 1956 in Mansfield, Ohio.
Kirk worked at Swifty Oil, Aluminum Exchange and for 28 years at Milliron Industries. Kirk's passion was hunting. He enjoyed the challenge and excitement of hunting deer and rabbit and loved sharing these memories with his son Andrew and brother Keith.
Selfless in nature, Kirk was known as the family's personal mechanic. He always made himself available to lend a helping hand when a car or truck needed fixed.
When it came to his yard, Kirk was quite the perfectionist. Taking meticulous care of his lawn, it was always mowed and his landscaping always groomed.
Described as a family man, Kirk was a dedicated father always there to support Andrew.
He is survived by his loving wife, Becky Kniceley of Mansfield; son, Andrew Kniceley of Mansfield; parents, Olney and Roberta Kniceley of Lexington; three grandchildren, Blake, Emily, and Sammy Brewer; sisters and brothers-in-law, Lenna and Jim Jamison of Lexington, Ohio and Debby and George Stallard of Lexington; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Cathy Kniceley of Mansfield and Keith Kniceley of Lexington; stepson, Hobie Brewer and his fiancée Heather Buchanon both of Shelby; nephews, Shane, Chad, Nathan and his wife Angelica; great nephews, Gavin and Aiden.
Kirk was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bob and Mabel Schooley and Roy and Martha Kniceley.
The Kniceley family will receive friends Wednesday, September 15, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where Kirks funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
