Oooohhh, interesting. I had guessed about Sydneys' wife but needed to be sure - i think it's Burnett. Many thanks for all the info about the others also. I have Harry Edward as Harry Edwin which i'm also pretty sure is correct. However I didn't have an Eric! I also have four children from William's first marriage to Elizabeth Gell. Three girls who all died young and also the William you mention. However, I still have seven children from his second wife Catherine Christian and that is not including the Eric that I didn't know about. The one you probably don't have is Arthur Christian Kneale b.1894 - d. 1895. So where do I fit in to all this? Well we have to go back another three generations to William's great grandfather also William and then come forward from there down the line of his son Joseph Kneale b.1818. It is Joseph's son William b.1844 that others on this board are mixing up with the William b.1838 married to Anna Coole. If you would like to send me your email address to fkneale at hotmail.com I will attempt to either send you a Gedcom if you are able to open it or we can swap postal addresses and I can send you some 'stuff'. I can go back 9 generations into the 1600's and have approx. 400 decendants at present. Many thanks once again for the missing info.

Thanks very much for that information. It is fascinating stuff. My mother thought the surname of William's first wife was Gell, but didn't know her first name. I'll pop all this information into my family tree. My email address is peter@oakfieldstables.com

I will chat with my family and see if I can get anything else to add.
Best wishes

Peter
