I'd just like to meet any other Kneales who may be out there. I know it's an uncommon name because I've never met another outside my immediate family. My father was British, and I know that the name originated on the Isle of Man. Do you know anything more? Would you like to chat?

My mother's maiden name was Kneale. The family as I know it came from the Isle of Man. I haven't been able to trace it though. My Grandfather was Franklin, I believe and My G-Mom was Alice, I think. Please reply. Thanks.

KNEALE in Cumberland/Westmoreland
A cousin of my father (he doesn't recall what the connection is) was a Catherine E KNEALE (Katie), whom he last saw in 1987 in Carnforth, Skelwith Bridge, Ambleside ... She was in her 70s or early 80s and has since died (ergo b 1908-1918) I don't believe she ever married and I understand she lived in the area all her life.
Her mother's name was Jane (Janie) married-name KNEALE and I don't know her maiden name, nor the given name of her husband. My father met her in 1944 when he was stationed in the UK during WWII. This also would have been in Ambleside/Westmoreland area. From looking at the distribution of this spelling of the name, in another generation I should certainly end up in the Isle of Man. However, until I can find some concrete evidence and connectivity these names merely exist as charming ladies who had him to tea.
Thank you for any help.

My Husband's family is Kneale from the IOM. I have done extensive research and have a book of Kneale ancestry that I have put together about his Kneale relatives. I would be more than glad to share any or all information that I have with other Kneale's. I still have a brother and sister that I am unable to find but would like to see if you could be related. His gggrandfather was James Kneale from Andreas IOM. He came to the USA in 1849 and settled in NW MO. We know that he had a brother and sister that came to the US also, but have not been able to find them. Waiting to hear from you.

My Grandfather on my Mother's side was Franlin Henry Kneale. My Mom was born in 1900. Franklin married Alice Fishbaugh. Somehow, we have a story in our family about a relative being from a wealthy family in the IOM. This relative maried outside the family and was disowned. We may be looking for some of the same relatives. Send me an e-mail if you think I can help. I'll give you everything I have. Please send me the information you have on our relatives from IOM if you can. Thank you.

How nice to find you! I have been working on the descendants of a Henry Mason (b. in MD in 1802, settled in Violet Twp., Fairfield Co., OH) and his wife Margaret Taylor. Their oldest daughter Ellen/Eleanor Mason married Mordecai Fishbaugh/Fishpaw in Fairfield Co. Ohio. I have 6 children for them, one of them being Alice C. Fishbaugh who was born in 1854 in either Fairfield or Franklin Co. Alice C. married Franklin H. Kenale on 14 Feb. 1873 in Franklin Co., Ohio. Franklin's father was Thomas H. Kneale, born about 1805 in England, and mother was Hannah Tanner born about 1816 in MD (dates approximated from the 1860 Census). I followed Franklin and Alice Kneale to Henry Co., Ohio; lost them; then found them in Toledo, Lucas Co., Ohio. I have of 13 children for Fanklin and Alice: Dora, Magie, Minnie, Ardistine, Della, another Minnie, William M., ?Lestil? O., Bertha C., Ira Etta, George Gustave, Henrietta B. and Ruth Jennings.
