Hello Wolfgang,

I'm doing research in the Niagara region of Canada, and have come across reference to a George Knavenshan (could be Knabenshue) who settled in Thorold Township, having filed a land petition of 200 acres for loyalty to the Crown after the Revolutionary War. Is it possible this is a descendant of your family? If so, can you provide any information about when they emigrated to the US, etc.?
Thanks!
Best regards,
Sarah King Head, MA, PhilM
Please email me back at caputrex@sympatico.ca

Sorry, Sarah, I'm not related to the Knabenschuh family.

But here I found a Georg Knabenschuh, born about 1758, who fought in the Revolutionary War:

http://lagis.online.uni-marburg.de/de/subjects/gsearch/sn/he...

Regards, Wolfgang

Looking for information on Mary Santos Morse Knabenschuh or shoe??? She was born in Hawaii between 1905 and 1913 married George Harrison Morse in 1928, had two children my mother Virginia and Uncle Walter. They divorced sometime in 1934 to 1936. Thats all I know other than hearing she remarried a Knabenschuh/shoe/or similiar name and lived in the Pennsylvania/Virginia area. If anyone could help I'd appreciate. Thanks Rod Merry MERRYROD@prodigy.net

I have notes that a half-sister also married a
Knabenshue. I am hoping that your Hannah Elizabeth and my
Elizabeth are the same person.

Hello John,
My name is Timothy Carl Knabenshue, I live in the northern panhandle of West Virginia. My father is originaly from Elkins, WV further south in the state. Years ago my father was contacted by a John Knabenschuh with genealogical information about the family. It stated that our branch's direct ancestor was a Johan Knabenshuh, who came to America in 1774. This antecedent was from Germany, the town of Messenheim, I believe. I am about the 7th or 8th generation . My father's name is Morris Carl Knabenshue. His father was Alva "Carl" Knabenshue. Any more information would be appreciated. Our family has misplaced the genealogical information that was given to us from the "John" that originaly contacted my father. Thank You. Please contacted via my e-mail: timotheus1969@yahoo.com

Best Regards,
Timothy C. Knabenshue

Hi Carol,
Good to hear from you. I have heard about cousins in the area of Uniontown. My father's name is Morris Knabenshue, his father was Alva Carl Knabenshue(went by the middle name). My grandfather Alva had a brother Benjamin. My father Morris doesn't have a brother by that name but has mentioned his Uncle Ben from you area.I believe that my grandfather Alva Carl and your grand father Benjamin were brothers. My Great-Grand father was John William Knabenshue and was married to a Hannah Elizabeth Paugh. I have my family line going back to 1775 and then to the 1600's. The John L. Knabenschuh who posted here originally provided my family with the geneological information. Hope to hear from you. Feel free to e-mail me directly. It may be quicker.
Take Care-Tim

Hello Timothy, I read your message on the Knabenschuh Message Board and understand your father is from West Virginia. I live in Uniontown, PA and my father's name was John Lowell Knabenshue and he was born in Selbyville, WV. His father was Benjamin Knabenshue and he was born in Peck's Run, WV. Benjamin had a brother named Morris. Benjamin's father's name was John. I do not know his mother's first name, but the last name was Paugh. I can remember visiting Morris as a very young child, but do not remember the city where he lived. I have been looking at family histories on the internet and was excited when I saw your message. I would love to hear from you. Maybe we are distant relatives. Sincerely, Carol Knabenshue George

I hope that you don't mind me intruding, but I have a couple of Knabenshue's in my family data. Any information would be helpful. Do you know if we are related to Roy Knabenshue who worked with or for the Wright brothers? We found some information on him but not ancestors. Thank you

John,
I am beginning to search my husbands family tree. His grandfathers mother's maiden name was Knabenschuh. Of course I have no idea what way it was spelled. I happened upon your message and thought I'd send you a message. His grandfather's name was Lewis Sale and he was the 7th son of a Lewis Sale. He was, however, the only son of this wife. He had 6 sons and a daughter by the first wife. Lewis Sale was born in Louisvieel, Ky. ln 2-1-1895. I wish I had gotten information from grandpa while he was alive on his family. What grandma wrote many years ago and they are sort of confusing.
Hope to hear from you.
Rita Sale e-mail ritasale@aol.com
