My husband's gggrandfather was CHRISTIAN KNAAK. From talking to others in the Tesene family I have only this info on his line. Christian Knaak b.20 August 1820- Germany d.18 February 1881.M. Charlotte Tech b. 13August 1821 Germany d. 14 February 1899.Both died Clear Lake, Iowa. Listed for family are:
Brother Knaak-Emilie Knaak b.1856-1913. Sister Knaak-William Knaak b. 1850-1914. I am following the William Knaak line.All born in Germany. Emilie married Frank C. Schmidt from Stetin,Germany. William married Wilheminia Trebesch, b.Brandenburg,germany/Prussia.

My brother is Fredrick William Knaak IV, i am trying to find out about my family history, all i know is that a Fredrick knaak in our family came from Prussia. Any help would be great. (i'm doing a school project)

Our info on Knaak family:
Christian Knaak-b.08/20/1820 came with wife Charlotte Tech children from Shoenwerder, Germany to Detroit, MI 1870. Their children were: Son Knaak,Daughter Knaak, Emilie Knaak b. 09/10/1856 and William Knaak, b. 06/14/1850 Brandenberg, Germany,William married Wilhemina Trebesch. Emilie married Frank Schmidt. Frederick William Knaak born 1834, in Stettin Prussia Son of Christian Knaak carpenter. Frederick was a mariner who emigrated to Sunderland UK where he married Margaret Hoffman. Lost at sea 1886. Their only son was also Frederick William Knaak, born 1866, last trace 1881 census Sunderland England. Seeking information Christian and Frederick jnr

Tracing Knaak family originating from Schwinkendorf Germany in early 1880's. Johann Carl married Sophia Krueger, common names include Frederick, William, John, Walter. Any connection?

My name is Joseph Knaak and know very little about my family, and nothing about its history. My father was Howard Charles Knaak, and his father was Donald, his wife Helen. And to my knowledge they all lived in and around the Detroit aria, and i wanted to learn more. If you have any information it would be appreciated.

Our info begins with Christian Knaak b.1820 married to Charlotte Tech b.1821.
They came from Brandenberg, near city of Prenslau near Berlin village Schoenwarder to America, by sail ship, in 1870 to Detroit Michigan, with their children, William, Emily,a sister who died young, a brother who also came to America (do not know if he came with the rest of the family).
William Knaak married Wilhemina Trebesch 1872 in Detroit, Michigan and moved in 1874 to Clear Lake, Iowa. They had 6 children,Herman,Anna, Matilda, Hulda, Flora, and Frances.
