DeAnn, I have a Fred Knaack in my husband's line, but he died in Deerfield, Il. My Fred was also born in Germany. I don't have Fred's dates, but comparing to some of his brothers, the death year matches, or at least probably pretty close. I have no other info on my Fred. Hey, who knows.

Thank you for responding to my inquiry. I want to understand a little more clearly how you're related to Albert Knaack. Would you be kind enough to tell me your father's name, your grandfather's name your great-grandfather's name? This will help me tie it all together - if possible.

I have been reading the responses back and forth. Question: What state are the KNAACKs you speak of from? I am researching KNAACKs as well. Mine are mostly in northern Illinois, but there are some that are stragglers - Iowa, Washington, etc. Possibly there are some connections.

Leona - If your Uncle Albert lived near Bartlett, IL we could have info that we MUST exchange. My husband's Grandpa Albert lived on a farm across the road from his brother Frank. I believe they also had brothers named Fritz (Fred?) and Wilhelm. Their father Christian lived near Barrington - his name is Knaack on the ship's manifest, but Knaak on the census of 1920. Hope we have some info that matches. Dolores
