I realize this is an old thread but I'm new to ancestry.com and just came across it. In case anyone revisits this thread, Andrew Kmetz Jr. and Susan Helen Sanko were my grandparents (my mom's parents). I'd be happy to share any information that I have, I've been working on a tree for my maternal family.

Hi, Laura,

We're second cousins! Susan's brother George Francis SANKO was my grandfather. Some years after he died in 1982, Grandma Irene began seeing another man. George's surviving siblings apparently felt this was an affront to his memory and never again had anything to do with Irene or George's descendants.

I'd enjoy hearing more about you and your family, and I'm sure my mother Mary would love to reconnect with her long-lost cousins. I'm also happy to share any SANKO and KMETZ information that I have.

Julia

I know this is a really old post, but my grandfather was Michael Kmetz. He lived in Murrysville, PA. Minnesota George was a name that was familiar in stories. My grandfather did a family tree and video of our family history before he passed away.
