i am looking for help to find out about my grandparents andrew and mary kmetz who came to usa in 1906.. the info i have is from austria but i was always told they were of czech republic birth.. they had 3 children,, john kmetz, mike kmetz and mary kmetz rosen, i know that mary kmetz died in 1924 and i believe that andrew died somewhere in penn. in the 1950's .. any help greatly appreciated.

Austria ruled Bohemia, Moravia which now is Czech Republic and Hungary ruled present Slovak Republic.
The word Czech most americans use it as a generic term for Czechoslovakia - 2 nationalities and 2 different languages about 90% similar.
You need to know a precise placename in "old country" to proceed with the research. Do you have their arrival manifest? Andrew would have come thru a port as Andras and Mary as Maria. KMETZ can be KMEC and KMECZ.
