Hello,
I believe that I may be a distant direct ancestor of Michael Kluck and Marth Grsywacz. I was tracing my ancestory on this to see my father's family and this is what I have found so far. My father is Charles Bockenfeld. His father is Maurice Bockenfeld. Maurice married Pauline Kluck who, I believe, was a child of Edmund Kluck. My father was born in the city of Milwaukee in 1946. He then married my mother, Mary Schmitz. They then had the four of us, Carol, Christen, Paula and Jim (TWINS). I am curious to see if you have collected this already or if I just added a few more to your list.

Thank you,

Paula

My grandfather was Anthony Francis Klick who lived in NYC starting around 1906 or so, as a young boy with his parents. The story we were told was the family name was Kluck and General Alexander von Kluck was related (brother/cousin?) to my great grandfather. But when German sabateours blew up an ammunition dump at the outset of WW1 in NY they feared sounding "German" so unnoficially turned Kluck to Klick. We were also told we were actually Czech but tracing backwards was difficult at best. Anthony grew up and married Zdenka (Zdonia) Svoboda who also came over from Czechoslovakia as a 5 or 6 yr old around 1905 or so. My father, Donald Klick says he has old birth certificate of his father Anthony showing Kluck as his birth name. Otto was supposedly an uncle along with Buboslav. The rest is vague so far but I'm searching myself for more answers

I don't know if this is still going but I would like to know if anyne has a connection to Frank Kluck, my grandfather, he came to the US from Bremen, Germany around 1906? Probably a different family but thought I would give it a try. Mike Kluck

When I was around fourteen my maternal Irish Grandmother, while watching a tv program where General Von Kluck was mentioned, said that the General was a cousin of my father (he was Polish.

Now years later, I find my older siblings all knew this, but I cannot figure out how their is a relationship, unless Anna KLUGA is a variation of the spelling. She would have been my
dad's ggrandmother. Other names in family are Michalski, Rusinski, Dorsz, Weglikowski, Flak, Wyrwa.

Hi Silva,

My name is Karla Kluck. My grandfather is Wesley Kluck lives in Stevens Point WI I am wondering if he was related to your grandfather? I may be mistaken and kick myself for not paying closer attention but do feel like I've heard the name Myron mentioned on occasion perhaps married to a Helen?
Anyways it seems unlikely to all be in the same town and not have a connection. My grandparents are Wesley and Emily (deceased) Kluck they had four children Corrine, Audrey (deceased), Norbert (my father) and Warren.
I was recently visiting my grandfather and he told me that my Great Great Great Grandfathers name was Kluczokski when he came over from Poland but my G G Grandfather changed it to Kluck (pronounced Klook) in the civil was because he got tired of spelling it. I also know that my GGG Grandad settled in Millwaukee.
If any of this sounds similar to your story I'd love to hear from you.
Thank you for your time,

Karla M Kluck

I have in my files a Wilhelmina KLUCK, b. abt 1842 in Bekenhammer ?, West Prussia. She was the dau of Johann KLUCK [no further info] and she m. Ludwig August PUPHAL, he b. 2 Oct 1836 Zippnow, Deutsch Krone, West Prussia. They were m. there on 3 Jan 1866 and had at least one child, Annie Auguste Mathilda PUPHAL, b. 16 Nov 1866, d. 5 Jan 1918 at Winsor, Huron, Michigan. Annie was in Michigan by
1891 when she m. Lawrence Decher/Decker who was himself, born in Ontario, Canada.

Surely there is a relationship between the KLUCKs, with so many in the Zippnow and West Prussia area. Also, is Winsor close to the KLUCKS in Canada??

Hello:

I think your father, Donald Klick, was nephew or cousin to my grandmother, Dorothy Rose Klick. She was born in NYC to Alfred von Kluck who later changed his name to Klick. Her mother was Rose David and later remarried and became Rose Blovesky. I was told that they were Prussian (Alfred) and Bohemian (Rose) but we said we were Czech and German. My grandmother said that Donald had contacted her a few years back (now at least 5 years) and said he had a secret to tell her about their family. She never did get that information and now she too is passed. Alfred Klick was an entrepreneur in NYC. My mother has a newspaper article about him. He was a very intelligent man who later developed epileptic fits and was put in a sanitarium. This must have been in the early to mid 1900s. My mother would know more. Here is my grandmother's obituary: http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/journalinquirer/obituary.as...

If you think that Donald is the same Donald Klick, please respond. I would love to find out more. Thank you.

There are some Kluck entries found in the local resource called "Milwaukee's German Newspapers; an index of death notices and related items" (1844-1950); names like Albert, Ernestine, Franz, Friedericke (née Wessel, ref. John), Henrietta (née Garschke), John, Mary Louise (née Mallon).

If your family was Catholic, you may find them at www.cemeteries.org
A search for "Kluc" will bring up a wider list of entries like Kluck Kluczewski Kluczykowski.
