Hi Tom:

I am not your man . . . however, I would be interested in hearing from David Klick, former CO of the USS Conquest, as I am also named David Klick. I served as an officer in the 7th Army in Germany 1962-1965. I do not know the Navy David Klick. However, if he "surfaces", let him know that I have extensive geneological records on the Klick surname dating back to 1707 in Germany. Included is a Marine Sgt. David Klick.

Best wishes for locator success.

Thank you,

Hello Mary:

My relatives from Germany include (in part):

Paul KLICK b 1707 m Dorthea NOTKE b 1728
Child Johann Klick uknown birth year, m. Anna Catharina JANUSCHKE
child Paul Klick b about 1802
child Martin Adam Klick b 12-24-1808 (my gg grandfather) m Caroline BOCK b 3-14-1813 -- They had nine children and emigrated from Sarbske, Kreis Laudenburg, Pommern (Northern Germany, near the Baltic Sea) to the U.S. on July 8, 1858. They sailed from Bremen in a wooden saliboat "Keana Barque Union" for 54 days arriving in NY September 15, 1858. The family then settled near Herman, Missouri. I have extensive records on those Klick relatives and their descendants.

I spent three years with the U.S. Army in Germany (including Stutgart) so have a strong interest in Deutschland. Speaking of that, let me know if you would like to receive a copy of "English the Preferred Language" (a spoof on the German language). It is hilarious :)

Best wishes,

P.S. My grandmother Frieda Margaretha JUNG was born in Edingen, Germany (near Heidelberg) and emmigrated to the U.S. in 1886 and settled in Herbron, North Dakota.

I would also like to find former LTJG DJ Klick. He was the officer-in-charge of the USS Parrot (MSC-197) from about winter 1972 until the Parrot's decommissioning in July 1972. I was his yeoman and I have a few pictures of him at the change of command ceremony.
