Hello William. I haven't viewed this site in awhile, so I JUST noticed your posted reply to Randy Elliot. Randy and I volleyed back and forth a bit about our family about 5 years ago. Our Eduard Klick came over from Glawitz, Germany in 1905 when he was 31y, putting his DOB at 1874. He went from Ellis Island to central Wisconsin, where several of his decendents (myself, included) still reside. From what I've been told by a couple people from Germany, Klick is a rather popular name, so it's hard to distinguish! But thank you for the information anyway! And who knows, maybe I'm related to that Edward, too! I would love to do some further research, but find many dead ends when I try! That's nice you know even the birth dates and who married who! Well, I must be going now. Thank you for the post!

Stephanie

Actually, they came from GLEIWITZ, Germany, not GLAWITZ. On the Ellis Island website, the original ship manifest says Glawitz; of course, when you have an accent, or don't speak English at all, things are bound to be misunderstood. Same thing goes for name spelling...several strings of Klicks are Clicks, but I'm told that Klick is the proper German spelling.

Hi Randy,
Edward Klick was my grandfather. His son Walter was my father. Don't know if you are still seeking information but it would be interesting to talk with you. My email address is prostreet28@yahoo.com.

Thanks,
Rodney Klick
