Katharzyna "Katherine" Klick
Lorraine, I have relatives from Delano in my family tree. There was a Katherine Klick married to Jan "John" Czock who came to Delano in about 1882. Katherine was born in Brinnitz, Germany on Nov. 20, 1843. Her obituary mentions one sister, Mrs. Tillie Pogreba: one brother, Mr. Peter Klick: two sons, John and Frank Czock, and three daughters, Mrs. James Dunn, Mrs. Charles Weinch and Mrs. Joe Reich. She was buried March 24, 1925 a cemetery east of the down of Delano, MN. Peter Klick married Rose Motzko in Delano on Jan. 23, 1883. Let me know if this might tie in with your family. Mary Ellen

Re: Katharzyna "Katherine" Klick
I saw in your post that you had relativies in Delano. Is this Delano MN? My grandfather, Stephen Klick, grew up on the family farm in Delano. His parents, Nick and Mary are buried at the cemetary in Delano under the surename Klich. According to my father, when they came to this country, their surname was changed to Klick, whether by immigration by mistake he does not know. I do know that there are quite a few Klicks and Klichs in that cemetary.

Re: hoping to find family members
Hello Lorraine, my husband Don is the son of Frank Anthony Klick, son of John and Susan (Kurtz) Klich. I just started this mission of his ancestry search, and am curious if you have any notion of where in Poland/Germany the original families came from. The boundaries seemed to change between Germany and Poland for a few hundred years. Any ideas? Don has one living sister in CA, and 3 deceased siblings. Don's dad was 62 when Don was born, so finding living relatives is a challenge. We live in Abu Dhabi, UAE!

Re: hoping to find family members
Penni - Your husband Don and I are 3rd cousins. John and Susan Kurtz Klich are my great grandparents also. My grandfather was Stephen Klich. John J. Klich came from Brinnitz, Oppeln Germany at the time in Germany. Now it it Bryncia, Opole, Poland. I've just begun creating a tree but I have a lot of family information to start with. I am also located in Utah, just 30 miles from the Family History Library. I am heading there on Monday to try to find baptisimal and marriage licences on microfilm. I will keep you posted with what I find if you'd like...Cheryl
