My husband's grandmother had postcards from Germany prior to 1935. It was her brother, we believe. His name was Karl Klebe. Any relation?

I am taking photographs of the the photographs. I'm going to check into a new scanner. I emailed the photos of the photos to a friend who is German. She & her family are trying to translate the Klebe postcards and photos. There seems to be a few Polish (Prussian) words mixed in with the German.

The funeral book we have showed Louise Klebe (married a Glaubitz-hence my initials J.G.), was born in "Chilchow" Germany, but I THINK it may have been Zullichau because several of the photo postcards were taken there. With her accent, it may have sounded like "Chilchow." Many others were taken in Berlin, which was in the Brandenburg state.

The Klebe's were Lutheran (which also confirms the area).

For the area's history Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prussia shows The End Of Prussia, which helps explain why Louise never got any mail from Karl Klebe after about 1935 (unless we find otherwise with interpreters).

If you wish to see a few photos I've already taken, go to our brand new Glaubitz website I made this week: www.glaubitz-family@freeservers.com" target="_blank">www.glaubitz-family@freeservers.com The first page has two photos - one the most current we had of (I think) Karl and his wife seated. I'm getting these photos interpreted.

If you wish me to send the Klebe photos to your email as I take them, let me know.

Klebe from Zuellichau (Brandenburg), now Sulechòw (Poland)

I don't have your email, so I'm attaching a couple of photos showing "A. Klebe" seated at the table with an accordian. It was sent 1931. The one with the couple sitting in front of the hedge was taken 1934.

We have NO CLUE what those four men are wearing around their necks or who they were either.

Apparently, the written style was Sutterlin. It's a little tricky to translate.

We also have a photo sent to a Mr. Kaarl Shober residing near Waiter? Vineyard near Zeullichau, if you know anything about where that would have been.
