My husband just found out that his grandmother's maiden name was Anna Klebee. She married Alfred Nunn, probably in NY. I notice that most of the Klebe's seem to live in the midwest. Are there any in NY that any of you know about? Anna's oldest daughter, Alma Nunn, was born in 1904 so I would guess she must have been born around 1884. Klebe is the closest I have been able to get to Klebee. Thanks.
Mary

My husband's grandmother was Louise Carolyn Klebe who (we just found out) went to Willow Springs, Missouri from Germany. We don't know who she knew there or how she came to be there. She was 24 when she took citizenship.

She soon married Emmanual Fritz Hap Glaubitz. They lived in Rogersville, MO. had a large family and lived happily until their natural deaths.

The Klebe's have been hard to trace b/c they come from East Germany. Her family sent her correspondence until around 1935.

We never knew anything about Anna Klebee's family. I'm sorry we never asked anything. I'm thinking I might be able to get her death certificate and find out who her parents were. She didn't have an accent so I feel as if she was born in the USA. Thanks for your reply.

The last names are spelled slightly different too, however so were the names of our grandfather b/c of the clerks spelling phonetically, unfamiliar with the foreign language & handwriting not being perfect.

I'd appreciate any records that may help! There were a couple of Anne and Annas in the Glaubitz family...
