I'm looking for a John Klaes b. in Germany who entered the US abt. 1850. He married a Marcella Cahill and left Pennsylvania abt. 1856 heading west. They were in Saint Louis in 1871 and in Buena Vista, Chaffey Co., Colorado in 1880 but the family dissappears after that.
John and Marcella Klaes had two sons that were found after 1880 and they were Charles Joseph Klaes and John Francis Klaes. Charles married a Flora Ann McBride in 1907 and had William Anthony Klaes and Margarate Klaes who grew up in Colorado.
Any information on this family would be appreciated.

Hello Kathleen: I am Marcella Klaes Feeney's daughter-in-law. I saw your note on the message board. My husband was Jim Feeney, born in S.F. in 1929. I met John Klaes when he was an old man. I liked him. He died in Colorado in June, 1964. I think he's buried in Inglewood Cemetery, in Denver. Please e-mail me at Panorampat@aol.com. Are you Jim's cousin?
