Jayne, Thanks for your response. I believe Adolph William to be the child of John William Klaas. I believe he was born in Mademuehlen, Germany and setteled in the Chicago area where he and Mary Rewold were married. If you think there could be a connection please contact me at : klaasjb@erinet.com Thanks, Jean

Is it remotely possible that your Klaas family is also related to mine? My Grandmother was Bertha Louise (nee Klaas) Kaselitz, born 27 June 1885 in Port Huron, Mi
Her father and mother were: Carl Rudolph Klaas b. 20 Nov 1851 in Lappin, Germany -
d. 19 May 1930 in the U.S.A. and Amilia Hulda (nee Recknagel) b. 15 July 1850 in Prozcwoc, Germany (marriage date 5 Nov 1876)she died 25 September 1926. Their children were: Otto, Edward, Ida, Bertha, William, Emma and Carl. I will be glad to supply any information from my data base.

Thanks for your response, however I have so few Klaas names, I can't make a connection. Only other name that I have is Emilie Klaas who married Fred Heicher. Emilie was child of John William and sister of Adolph William.
Does that match any of your information?

I have noticed the names Gerald is used quite a bit through out the family (especially in my immediate family) If anyone thinks they can help get me started please help. Thanx!

I too am a newby in Genealogy. My father was Elmer Louis Kaselitz, son of Hugo F. Kaselitz and Bertha Louise KLAAS.
Bertha was born (as far as my recards show) in Port Huron, Michigan. Her mother was Emilie Hulda Recknagel who was born in Przewosch West Prussia (Preussen) and her father was Carl Rudolph KLAAS who was born in Lappin, Germany.
The father of Carl Klaas was Fredrick Klaas who was born in Germany (have no other information). I have the names of the brothers and sisters of my grandmother, Bertha (nee Klaas) Kaselitz.
I am also looking for something on the Kaselitz family from Germany. I've been doing this about a year and haven't found much. Any assistance would be wonderful!!

I am just going back to my genealogy after over a year of not working on it. I saw your message about Julius Adolph Klaas being your gggrandfather. He is mine also. My grandfather is Oscar Eugene Klaas. I think we have a connection. Boy I sure hope I hear back from you soon. I'm excited.
Thanks
