Her father was Henry Klaas he was a professer in teaching music. my grandmother said that her mom was born in Paterson N.J. But Henry might of been from some where else. They are not in the the 1880 census for N.J. hope you can help me out thank you

Otto A. Klaas, Jr was my father and my great grandfather's name was Theopold ( I probably spelled it wrong). Theopold was a mean spirited pain that married multi-wives and then kept devorcing them. He came to the Mt Pleasant area from Germany and brought my grandfather Otto A. Klaas, Sr who was also a pain but he stayed married to my grandmother Annie ? Keegler who also arrived as a child from Germany. Annie was very intelligent, head strong (she had to be to stay married to my grandfather!), a good business woman, and yet very loving mother and grandmother. My grandfather, a coal miner and half-hearted farmer took a special liking to me for some reason and always treated me exceptionally well. We used to argue and debate for reacreation up to 1 to 2 am in the morning when I was an older teenager. Then my dad would come in to see how is dad was after returning home from Westinghouse and tell me to go home immediately. My father, not one to pick a verbal fight, but excelled at debate in high school, technical school, and when anyone made the mistake of challenging him.

There might be as Annie talked of relatives who moved out to Elkhart, IN. We never paid it much attention; therefore, our family has lost all information related to these relatives.
