I am searching for any relatives from my father's family. His name is Peter Jensen Kjoller and he was born in Bojden on the island of Fyn in 1921. My grandfather was Martin Christian Kjoller, possibly from Bornholm. My grandmother was Abelone Katrine (not sure of spelling) Jensen Kjoller, possibly from Horne. My father had two older sisters, Randy and Marie. Randy never married; Marie's married name was Jensen. He also had two older brothers, one I believe was Aag, the other I don't know. My father came to the United States as a young man and had little contact with his family. If you have any information, please reply. Thank you.

My father was Einar Kjoller, from Horsens, Denmark. I live in Calif., and am related to the Toledo and Mass. Kjollers. I believe all the Kjollers originated in Bornholm, but haven't been able to find a connection between my family and the Bornholm Kjollers yet.

It is very likely your Kjoller family was originally from Bornholm, Denmark. Kjollers have beeen there since 1500. The line begins with Arend von Kjoller & his son Rasmus Kjoller b.1530. who came from Pommerania (a duchy of Germany. Rasmuss married Birgitte NNsdatter b.1540, a Danish girl.
Their son, Hans Rasmussen Kjoller (1560-1609) was the first male Kjoller born on Bornholm.
All true Kjollers on/from Bornholm are descended from these.

The only connection to me would be the island of Bornholm...and there are a lot of Kjollers from there. My mother (who's maiden name was Kjoller) visited there in the late 1940's and she was amazed at how many people there were named Kjoller.

My grandfather immigrated with his family around 1905 to MA...but...his parents had lived in MA before he was born and there were a lot of family members there with various jobs in the mills. Look up Kjoller and Holyoke, MA. There were a lot of cousins bringing over cousins etc.

My great grandfather was Sophus Moens Kjoller (though I've found him listed as Moens Kjoller as well).

My grandparents moved to Ohio during the depression...so you'll see a lot of the family there (six kids) in census data etc.

Good luck/I'll keep an eye out for you on my Kjoller searches.

BTW...I had a great uncle named Peter Kjoller (and my uncle born in MA was named John Peter Kjoller)...probably a common name. Our Peter was born years earlier than yours.
