Hello,
I don't know much about the KJELLGREN side of my family except that my great grandmother Albertina Josephine (KJELGREN - SHELGREN) MARS / MARSH was born June 2nd, 1862 in Stockholm Sweden. Her family came to the US in 1873. They located in Calumet Michigan. She married John Sigurt MARS - MARSH in 1877. They had 11 children. They were born in Michigan, Minnesota and then they moved to Goldendale Washington. On her Obituary in May 22, 1930 it showed that she had a sister Alma TURNQUIST and a brother Charles SHELGREN in Calumet Michigan. It also showed on her Funeral Record that her fathers name was Chas. (Charles) G KJELLGREN from Sweden and his mothers name was Mathilda.

My gr grandfather was John Shelgren his mother was Helen Gagahan. They lived in Williamson Co, Texas. The 1900 US Federal Census shows Helen living alone age 70. It shows her year of Immigration to be 1860. They are listed in the census for that area for the last 40 years. I have been trying to find where they arrived in the US and maybe then I can find where they lived in Sweden. I too, have found the Shelgren name spelled many ways. It is really a brick wall for me. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you
Janie

The name Kjellgren is correct... how are we related? I have some old pictures of my great grandfather and great grandmother - some even have the name spelled that way on the back.
