The Moses Kitchel you are talking about was born January 7, 1778 in Hanover,NJ. He married Ester Muchmore on May 27, 1801. This information was in my Kitchel Family History Book. This specific information has a reference of "Unpublished Family Records" by Katherine Kitchel Detwiler, West Liberty, Ohio, 1989
Let me know if I can be of any more help! I do have an address listed in the back of the book for this lady. Granted, it's a 1989 address, but it might be worth a shot!

Laura, thank you for your reply. Is there anything in the Kitchel Family History Book re: Moses Kitchel who married Phebe Hedges and had son Piercy b. about 1775. Specifically, looking for a birth date for this Moses and marriage date of Moses and Phebe. This Moses was a son of Joseph Kitchel (Judge) and Rachel Bates. Does the book have a marriage date/place for Joseph and Rachel?
Thanks again. Anne

Moses Kitchel was born in 1739 in Hanover Neck, NJ (I didn't find any specific dates to answer any of your questions with, just years). He married Phebe in 1760, and they had 10 children. Judge Joseph Kitchel married Rachel in 1734. Hope that helps! ~Laura

As I was sorting through some other family history papers I have, I came across some info about Moses Kitchel that has indeed been previously verified. It is from a J. Roderick Kitchell, and is dated August 26, 1980. It reads as follows:
"Moses married Phoebe Hedges, his first wife. By her, he had sons named Calvin, Piercy, and perhaps others. Prior to 1775 Phoebe died and Moses remarried secondly to Eunice Faitout (sometimes spelled Fatote, Faitote). This woman was born in New Jersey; they were married in New Jersey; and she stemmed from French Huguenot extraction. There is a large family of Faitouts who still live in America. By Eunice Faitout Moses had a son, James Luther. I do not know if they had other sons or daughters.
Evidently Moses, Eunice, and son James Luther came down the Ohio River on a flatboat and landed at Losantiville, which is now Cinncinnati. They were onthe first flatboat of settlers to come down the Ohio. Evidently both of them later severd inthe War of 1812 in Ohio."
The following is extracted from the Cory-Mulford Volumes (whatever that is) Kitchel, p. 69 continued
The offspring of Joseph Kitchel and his wife, Rachel, (amongst others)
Moses, born in 1739- living in Hamilton County, Ohio as late as 1806. The date of his death is unknown and he was probably buried in the First Presbyterian Church, Cinncinnati.
Married the 1st time before 1761- Phebe, daughter of Elias Hedges, who died in New Jersey before 1775.
Married 2nd time to Eunice Faitout in 1775.
Moved first to Kentucky, year 1786, Ohio ca. 1803 where he became an attorney. He was a leitenant in NJ in the Revolutionary War and later foragemaster in Commissary general's dept.
I hope there was some new info for you here ~Laura
