Surnames: Tuchin Menyluk Kitay
Hi Tanya, We are indeed related. I have since received copies of obituaries for my Great Grandfather Andrey Tuchin and one of his sisters Lydia Menyluk and both list Anastasia Kitay as being their sister. They also had a brother named Nick according to Lydia's obit, Nick resided in North Battleford SK at the time (1961) I can send you copies of these obituaries if you would like to email me with your email address, I think you can do that privately on here. I am definitely interested to find information regarding their parents which I think might be quite a task. The only thing I know is that My Great Grandfather Andrey came from the Stavropol region of Russia.

I also do vaguely remember meeting your Aunt Mary and her husband Peter, I believe more than once. I know that my household received a Christmas card from Mary and Peter regularily when I was young.

Tuchina would be the feminine form of Tuchin so it is very possible that it was Anastasia Tuchina however my Baba(Grandmother) and her Mother's surnames were indicated as Tuchin not Tuchina on their immigration papers when they came to Canada in 1924

Yes! That would be fantastic if you could...tanyakitay73@gmail.com
I think I remember reading somewhere that the fringed version of the surname was dropped when their was a marriage and the maidene neeed to ne listed
I should'be also indicated that the 'aunts' and 'uncles' are my greats. They are my dad James Kitay and my Uncle John Kitay's aunts and uncle and father.
I discovered the census/voting records for my grampa (John/Ivan)and nana (Anna Lee Kitay ouse) for Weston...year about 1930something...

hello, we're related too since Tanya is my second cousin. When you met Aunt Mary and Uncle Peter in Sask. was there 2 girls with them? I went with them and one day we visited Uncle Andrew who was quite old. Could that be Andrey Tuchin? I get lost with the names and lineage, but maybe it was Aunt Mary's uncle.

cheers, Amy

hi Tanya, I never knew about Sam. Dad (Fred) never ever spoke his name. What do you know of him?
