Hi am am Lance Kisby. My grand father was Ernest Kisby(b: 1893) of Leicester Eng. He married Ethel Bragg also of Leicester. They were marrieddin 1917 but here is the funny part. We may be really related. My grandfathe wasnted to immigrate to Australia. His immigration # was lower than Ethel's so he got called sooner. SO, he went to Boston, set up an aprtment there and lived alone for 2 YEARS until Ethel's number came up. Ethel sold most of all her belongings except for 1 cup, plate, dish, pan etc. she evensold the bed and slept on a mattress on the floor. Her numberwas eventually called, went to Boston to meet up with my grnd fatehr but 1 year later, my father Harry Kisby was born. He is the only child. So, I have always wondered WHY of allthings they wanted to go to australia..I guess there must have been relatives (? brothers or cousins?) that were already there.
Ihope you find this interesting . You can send any and allinfo to the above E mail or my home in US

I think you got in touch with Malcom Kisby of London just as we were there having scones and HIGH TEA!!!!!!!!!!! He has been doing research for some time and was saying how flabbergaasted he was to see so many Kisbys come out of the wall. Most of all, he never knew there was a US connection. He has a great Kisby family tree chart. I can send it if you did not get it from him Please keep in touch because I am doing the US kisby connection and it takes us to Henry Kisby, b in LIncolnshire Eng. came to Iowa, first wife died, no kids; in the 1880 census he was 62 years old and his wife was 20 and they had 4 kids under age 4 and this included 1 set of twins! Whew! THose kisby men, if you know what I mean.
See ya

Hey Vicky, I came across Walter Charles Kisby, born 1862 in Cambridge, England - he emigrated to NZ, married an English woman, Eliza Webber and had a large family in the Auckland area - children Walter, Ivy, May, Miriam, Edwin, Cecil, Reginald, Annie, Archibald, Frederick, Evelyn, Iris and Jessie, enough in fact to populate a small planet. Do you think he was the origin of the NZ Kisby's?
