Here is more information on the Leicester side of the Kisby tree. So far, Malcom Ksiby of Greenwich Eng. and I have not found any skeletons. Nor did we find abandoned Kisby fortune!
Here is what I found interesting. The name Kisby came form a town called Keisby. Early spelling of the Kisby name is Keisby. This town does not exist on any map except for a really old on that Malcom found. It is still there and is more of a village, in teh truest sense of the word. It is really an intersection with houses (4-5) in the area. It is about 1 hr Northest of Leicester. Sort of in what I envision to be a great setting for a Sherlock HOlmes story!
2. came across some other Kisbys in UK when we were there thsi last Summer. We went to Leicester and met up with one the most warmest people we ever met. Peter and Valery Kisby. He is a retired fire Lieutenant, is 55 years old and is now a part time magistrate. He agreed to fix any tickets that I may get while driving in Leicester. Pete and Val showed us where Ernest Ksibylived, went to shcool, where he and Ethel Bragg lived after they got married. adn whee he worked. A real cute area of a rather big city. More like pop. of about 200,000. Poor, though.
We saw Roman ruins! But the highlight was the Tavern owned by a Kisby. If I remember correctly ( my notesare at home) it was called the Old Bowling Green Tavern. It is stillthere. It was owned by a William Kisby.
