Your great grandparents have the same names of my grandparents, who lived in Tolna Megye, Dombovar. in Hungary. If you have any information about my missing uncle who disappeared from Ohio in the 20's or 30's, would you please contact me with any information at all about the family? Thank you

Dear Connie, You and I are definately related. My father was Joseph Kiraly and my mother was Esther Ambrus. My father had a sister, Elizabeth and a brother who disappeared after he left Cleveland to look for work. If Joseph was your grandfather, then you are my neice. I had 11 brothers and sisters. They are, Charles, Bill, Ernest Joseph , Louis, Goldie, Helen, Eleanor, Esther, Threasa and me, Margaret. (Bill and Threasa are deceased.) Since I have lost contact with much of the family, I wonder who your parents are? I have been trying to trace the family tree for quite some time and have come to a dead end, which hopefully will be better when the records from Ellis Island are released some time next year.My father talked about Ellis Island and I know that they came through there. I think Aunt Elizabeth came first. My parents met in her boarding house and I believe, married shortly thereafter. My father worked in a coal mine in West Virginia and then moved to Akron. I am not sure of the date, but my brother Charlie, who is the oldest, would probably know. I would be interested to hear from you again. Maybe between the two of us, we can obtain more answers regarding this complicated family.

Margaret Savarese - I read your message to Connie and almost fell out of my chair! I've been searching for information on my grandfather Michael Kiraly. He had worked in the mines in West Virginia and moved away looking for work. I think he married my grandmother in North Dakota. I think he was working for my grandmother's father, and fell in love. What also made me send this note is that have a sister named Eleanor, and my mom's name is Eleanor. Anyway, if you know that lost brother's name, and it is Michael, I've finally found something!!!!!!

Dear Jan, I was happy to get your message. I was wondering how old you are and how much you can remember about where your grandfather came from? I really don't know what my father's missing brother's first name was and neither does my oldest brother who doesn't even remember him. HOWEVER it could very well have been Michael since that was my granfather"s first name. I think in Hungary it would have been "Mihaly". I have trying to get information on that missing brother for many years. Do you know if he ever talked about a sister named Elizabeth or a brother named Joseph? If so, then we might have something here. By the way, Connee did turn out to be my neice. I did not know of her (altho I did know her mother many years ago)an have even spoken to her on the phone. I look forward to hearing from you again. Margert Savarese

Dear Jan, I was happy to get your note. I'm sorry that I do not know my long lost uncle's first name. I was told as a child, but can't remember it. It may well have been Michael (or Mihaly in hungarian) because of my grandfather's name. He may have been named after his father as he was the oldest son. My Aunt Elizabeth told me that he was in Cleveland with the family, and during the depression, left to look for work and was never heard from again. They tried to find him by advertising in different papers but had no luck and after quite a few years went by, they just gave up and assumed that he was probably dead. I remember that my Aunt cried a lot over him. Anyway, if you could give me some more information as to the time frame, maybe we can make something out of all this. By the way, it turned out that Connee is my neice and we have had a grand time communicating with one another. Hope to hear from you again. Sincerely, Margaret Savarese
