Good luck, I too have been looking for Kipe's from PA. I have an ancestor that lived in IA in 1860. In the 1860 census it stated that he was from PA. I have no other information than that. His name is Emmor(Emor) Kipe

Do you know how old this man was in 1860. It's not a name I have run across yet. I have about 2400 people that were direct descendents of my 3rd great grandparents. Their names were John Henry and Catherine Clark Kipe. I know that he stated he was born in Pa. in 1787. I have no idea at this point who his parents were. I do know that in 1810 and 1820 there were three Kipe's listed in Adams County, Pa. John, Henry, and Jacob. Not sure what their relationship was but by ages they may have been brothers. Let me know if I can be of any more help. I am planning to put all my information together and print it by August of 2001.

Look in Rootsweb.com Search Emor Kipe and then under World Connect. Only one return. It says that Emor Kipe married Jane Yocum. You may find some of what you need there. Hope this helps alittle.

May I have him born around 1832 in PA. that could be give or take a few years. He was my gggrandfather. I know he married Mary Jane Yocum. They had four children, William Calvin Kipe, Jesse Kipe, Joseph Kipe and Louis Elmer Kipe. I believe the latter three may have died in Montana and William died in IA around 1912. If you ever run across him let me know. He has been a bit of a Mystery. I believe Mary Yocum and Emmor Kipe may have been married in Huntingdon County PA. That is where I have the Yocums located. Any information would be greatly appreciated

Darrel We have written before. William Calvin Kipe is my great grandfather. When you say that William was buried in the Nichols Cemetery with his wife. I have his wife as Jennie Kipe she died much later than he did. I have a small 1" x 1" article about his death not much but have an obit for Jennie. Did William have another wife? I am interested in what you have I would love to share what I have. I thought I had sent you a large envelop with many of the articles I had but never heard from you. Classification: Query
Surnames: Kipe
I happened across your posts after I did a GOOGLE search for KIPE...I looked at a family tree that my great aunt Israela Kipe made a few years ago: My descendant Kipes began with Christian Kipe who was born in 1778, and came from Germany to settle in Chester County, PA. He and Hanna Green had 5 children: George, Lewis, Hiram, (unknown), and William, all born between 1809 and 1819....I have a big piece of paper with lots more Pensylvania Kipes listed, but there are no "Emmors".
