I am looking for information about Anna Elizabeth Kipe (b. 10 Oct. 1875 d. 7 July 1956) married (11 Sept. 1892) Lewis Benton Flohr (b. 20 March 1873 d. 19 March 1961). We know very little about her or her family, only that she was from Sabillasville, MD, had two sisters (one name Catherine), and her father died when she was young. Any information about this Kipe family will be much appreciated.

Greetings--Thank you so very much for contacting me with Kipe genealogical information. We had really hit a brick wall in trying to get information about Anna's family. My mother remembers Anna being quite embarrassed and noncommunicative about her family of origin. My mother's impression was because the family had been in poverty during Anna's childhood, and Anna just didn't want to deal with anything from that time of her life. She and "Great-Grandaddy with the whiskers on" (which is what we called Lewis Benton Flohr) did raise a niece named in Anna's obituary as Eva Ann Shriner Miller, but I'm not certain whose child she was.
I would very much appreciate any information you care to share about the Kipes. What was the cause of death for John A. Kipe? Was Anna the youngest child? Do you know anything more about the McClain family? Have you been able to discover when these families emigrated to the United States, and from where?
My line goes from Lewis Benton and Anna to their son Earl Flohr, to his daughter Julia Ann Flohr Metzger (my mother). (There is now a Lewis Benton Flohr IV, my cousin's son.) When I was born, as the first great-granddaughter, Lewis Benton and Anna put together a sort of "hope chest" for me, with two place settings of china, some layer cake pans, some kitchen utensils, and so on. I still have a number of those things.
My mother knew that one of her grandmothers on her maternal side was named Julia Ann, but now we have a connection for the name on the paternal side. I'm so glad to have the opportunity to contact you and learn more about this family line. I will be glad to cover any costs involved in getting information to me.
Thank you again for contacting me. I look forward to hearing from you. Cynthia Mason P.S. I am sending this to the RootsWeb message board because my attempt to send it directly to your aol.com address was returned with the message that you are not acceting any messages from this address.

I have the identical information regarding Christian Kipe and his descendants. One of the descendants is Lewis Eugene Kipe who married Israella Dilks. The information I have is about 30 years old and has only been updated for my direct line of ancestors. Please contact me and we should be able to fill in the missing information.

I have discovered that Emmor was living with a Alfred Kipe in 1850, in Chester County PA. (census). Do you have an Alfred Kipe in your database?

Are you the Nancy Kipe that was at Texas Tech in the 1960's?
