Dear Sharon,

I was wondering if you had any more info since you posted this message. I am also looking for someone. I live in the lowermainland. I have a son, and he is 8 years old. His father was a kinsey. Micheal Gerald kinsey. He is an exhusband of mine that is no longer involved in my son's life (due to issues with drugs and angrer issues), but I am looking for any of his family members, where he will be able to contact and find some of his roots. I have this much information. Michael Kinsey's father is name Gerald Kinsey. Gerald is now remarried with 2 or 3 sons. However, gerald does run some sort of construction business. I think it is kinsey construction or kinsey something. I hope you can provide me with some answers. Thank you so much

George Washington Kinsey - Kansas

I am in search for a family member of George Washington Kinsey who was married to Emma Elizabeth Stewart. Recently I inherited some photos of this family and would like to get them to someone related. George Washington Kinsey was the father of Elva (Kinsey) Croan with his first wife. Elva in turn was married to my great-uncle Ernest Croan of Fredonia, Kansas.

Someone of the family who is very interested in their genealogy should have these photos.

Susanna (Kinsey) Salter, b.1860 PA, dau of Oliver Kinsey of Belmont Co., OH, became first female mayor in US

I have an original cabinet card photo of “Susanna Madora Salter - age 90”, taken in about 1950 in Norman (Cleveland) OK, which I would like to get back to family.

I found Susanna M. Salter in the 1900 census for Alva (Woods) OK, wife of Lewis A. Salter, attorney. Susanna’s birth is listed as Mar 1860 in PA. That location has to be in error, for censuses of 1860, 1870, 1910, 1920 and 1940 all show she was born in OH. Find A Grave states that Susanna Salter was the first female mayor in the United States. She was daughter of Oliver Kinsey and “Terissa Ann (White) Kinsey”. Husband Lewis was the son of a Kansas Lt. Gov. In 1887, Susanna was elected mayor of Argonia (Sumner Co.) KS.

Get back to me at margerice@prodigy.net if you are related to Susanna M. (Kinsey) Salter.

Kinseys of Georgia

I am really confused! I ran across a page that has the Kinsey family bible on it. My 2nd great grandfather is Elijah Warren Kinsey (6 Feb 1842 in Walker County, Georgia- 2 Feb 1916 in Walker County, Georgia). He married Susie Tate. According to the bible, Elijah's father was William D. Kinsey & his father was Roland Cornelius Kinsey. However, every other source I come across says that Roland's son's name was William Newton not William D. William D. & William Newton have completely different birth & death dates. The "Bible" page also says that William D was married to Sarah Rebecca Price & other sources are saying that William Newton was married to her. Please help me figure out what Elijah's father's real name is! Thanks!
Here is a link to the Bible page
http://www.genealogy.com/forum/surnames/topics/kinsey/1329/
Happy New Year ( 2015 ).

I trust you have not been waiting for a reply for the last 8 years!! I was just passing some time away the other night & came across your message. You have probably got the answers already but I just had to respond to a slight 'error' in your summary.

Mary Jane was NOT the daughter of Ann Day Warrington. She was the only daughter of Edwards first marriage to Jane Robinson. Mary Jane was Christened on 18 March 1849 almost 2 years after Edward & Jane had married. Sadly Jane died aged 26 on 11 July 1851 and is buried in the grounds of Prestbury Church.

Edward Kinsey married Ann Day Warrington on 2 December 1852 at St Peter's Church, Prestbury.

My wife was a Warrington and my research into her family is the reason for my interest in this thread. I would be happy to discuss this family further, but hopefully not having to wait 8 years.

Regards

Peter Lee

Hi there

Just saw your notice this evening after searching on David Lloyd Kinsey. He is my great grandfather, through his daughter Edith Kinsey, who was born in Johannesburg in 1911 but returned to the UK in 1921 with her mother Mary Kinsey and her younger brother Philip Kinsey. As far as I know, he had decided to stay in South Africa and find work, but ended up remarrying another woman and abandoning his family in the UK.

I was interested to hear about David Lloyd Kinsey's military career, do you have any sources I can also pursue for more information on that?

How are you related to him? Perhaps we can exchange more family information.

Many thanks for the information, it's always nice to meet a distant relation!

I am a descendant of Thomas Kinsey mentioned in one of the old posts. One of my cousins attended one of your Arkansas Kinsey reunions about 10 or 15 years ago. Are you still having those reunions? We had our 80th Kinsey reunion in Coryell County last month. Our group is much smaller, but still very dedicated. Many of us have done the DNA testing at Family Tree DNA. I am the administrator of the DNA project and always looking for possible cousins who will test their DNA - males/yDNA or autosomal/males and females. The DNA testing is helping us solve genealogical problems that are seemingly impossible to solve otherwise.

Cathy Wood Osborn
Holland TX

Have you found anything else, I too cannot find anything on Hettie, I am guessing maybe that was a nickname or a middle name and that is the reason we are stumped.Do you have anything else going back on Joel?

Thanks
Donna,
Christian Kinsey Family Bible

Does anyone have scanned images of this Bible? I'm trying to find some concrete information on Elizabeth Kingrick who is supposed to have married Jacob S. Like. Her daughter, Catharine Like, married Christian Kinsey in 1843 in Dauphin County, PA. All references say that "Patrick Donan has the family Bible of Christian Kinsey and his first wife, Kathryn Kingsrick Like. The Bible was given to them by Kathryn's father Jacob Like." I've never been able to find a copy of this Bible, or any way to contact the said Patrick Donan. I would so much appreciate any and all help. Thank you.

Barbara R.

I am unsure how often you log onto this site, but I believe that, after reading what you've posted, your grandfather Pryor Kinsey was the brother of my great great grandmother Lucy Kinsey (Moses, after she married my grandfather). Please contact me when you receive this message. Thanks!!!

Don't know if you are still looking for information. Sophia H Kinsey (wife of Benjamin F Kinsey) is buried at Blandford Cemetery in Petersburg, VA with her husband. She died 7/18/1916. She was the daughter of Jacob Herring and Arabella Richards from Maryland (my 4x gr. grandparents).
Also, buried with them, is their 8 year old son, Benjamin Franklin Kinsey who died 5/3/1860

My mistake, James Wade Kinsey was 23 in early 1962. I mistakenly said he was 20 in my earlier post. Oops!

Kinsey family in California

I am looking for any information about Charles Caswell Kinsey, likely born in 1850 and died in 1918.
He had a son, Harvey Caswell Kinsey, who was born in 1875 and married Emma Estelle Wyckoff.
There is some possibility that the name changed from Kenzie/Mackenzie with origins in England or Scotland.

KINSEY FAMILY BIBLE

Hi,

My name is Alan Howland and I live here in Titusville, Florida. Recently we purchased at an estate sale a beautiful Kinsey family bible printed we believe in 1935 and with gold guilt pages.
We have traced this bible to Louis Edward Kinsey in Chesterfield County Virginia. The bible contains two letters or cards that give me those names. If interested please email me at alhowland@live.com. I will send some pictures.

Thanks Alan
