Try this link http://www.goldenpages.ie Kilkenny seems to be the nearest listed with your family name to Waterford, its worth a try. Also remember your family, if still in Waterford may not have a phone. When you go to Waterford ask around in stores too. Good luck.

I posted a message in February re: Kathleen Kinahan, born
Waterford area 1892 - no response to date. I now know her
birthday was 9th June - but maybe not 1892 - she said she
was 27 in 1919, when she married my Grandad in London, but
maybe not? We are visiting Waterford in August, with
Kathleen's son from her second relationship [my Dad] - are
there no Kinahans in the area? Kathleen's father was Henry
Kinahan - listed as an electrician on her marriage
certificate - any information would be great!

My grandfather, Patrick Kinahan, I believe was born in Birr Ireland not far from Roscrae where my grandmother (Margaret Keeshan) was from.

In visiting the multi-media exhibit (like "Experience Dublin") at Trinity College in Dublin last year one of the slides showed a building along the river (dated early 1900's) with the Kinahan name at the top.

Perhaps some help !

Thanks!

will also search around the Roscrae area - I shall post any
successes - thank you both!

Hello John, No knowledge of Kinehans, but my Keeshans were from Roscrea area, but would have migrated much earlier than your grandmother. My g g gr father was Rody/Roger/ Rory Keeshan & his wife Mary, either Sullivan or Leonard. My g gr father John Keeshan & his wife Mary Maher migrated to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1856 & their children were born here.Another relative,William Keeshan, perhaps an uncle of John's came as a convict in 1830 to NSW. Like to hear from you. Maureen Doyle

Hello Ruthie,
Are you still at this address. I'm also looking for the VEALE
name in Old Parish, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford. They seemed to be connected to my KIELY family, also spelled
Keily or Kiley. Appears that some of them were in southwest
Wisconsin, USA in Lafayette County. The name there was Nicholas Vale and his wife Nora and children William and Patrick Vale in 1860. The Veale name I'm looking for was in the townland of Ballymacart Upper in Old Parish, Ring, Co. Waterford. They ran a post office there. Names were Lizzy,
Polly, Nellie/Ellie, and Nicholas Veale. Not sure of dates tho this would be in more modern day like the '40s and '50s.

Please write to me at my personal address, thanks:
